She never -- just to get the worst makes them. So she would say things like. She had this whole conversation with me about the -- cars. I said the key currencies and yes I know I took a moment pocket and I know I put them on the Dresser. And I can't find him anywhere so I just kept playing along and as the the where they are cheap where the key Carr's -- to -- the the as a mom how about the car keys and hit and Elton. And she is. In the past and have mentioned quite often called learned that the vast. LB JR and GE ST it's one word learn fast. And recently looked like say within the last two weeks. They came out with a significant press release and announcement that they have dramatically. Changed the web site. Because it's it literally designed to be. A user friendly tool. That anyone then they're trying to attract and 99%. But I really hate saying it. You know there's a 1% then -- -- 99%. The 99%. Of the people who want financial ties but feel they can't afford it and don't have the money to pay. For -- it is it's really a very very well done site and anyone who wants any basic information. I would say in my. Humble opinion. If you have more than a 100000 dollars that you have. To invest or wherever you are in life it probably wouldn't do enough for you push for people who have less than a 100000 dollars who are. Relatively young and this is designed for women. That doesn't mean men can't do this type. It is a wonderful place to start gives you basic skills to learn. Things like how do you buy -- house. But just for basic stuff that most people have never been taught -- women. Com how to develop a budget what kind of insurance do need really some good stuff so I recommend it highly anybody who wants to get an idea. -- what do I need to do to get started. We learned the best dot com Tampa. And I think it might be time for our stories take. Esther is a woman in her mid fifties who realized she was bored to tears with her life. She had done all the right things married in their twenties -- to children when she was in their late twenties early thirties. Fortune and banking career through her forties and was facing a midlife crisis known early fifties. She came. To see me because she feared if she left her career now. She might be giving up her best earning years. Lose her momentum on their 401K. Plan if she left it behind. And wonder what life would look like if she started something new. But she was in her mid fifties. Her conversation with senator around what she might be losing. My wife she may be gaining. I asked her to consider what her life would look like five years from now. If she was still doing the same thing. The pain on her face told me everything. She clearly was ready for something new but she did not know where to begin. For how to plan for a financially. I said if I could show you way to guarantee your retirement planning would continue unabated despite your best earning years. Could also produce some thing you could sell at some point in time in the future and your energy would undoubtedly be far greater than it is now. Would you be interested in pursuing this further. Of course she says she wouldn't. I explain the first step would be to find out what her skill sets war and what her lifelong passions work. Even if it did not seem to to be moneymaking passions. Once we answer those questions are referred her to a consultant we work with Evelyn talent -- ski. Who helped her discover. She was a natural for work in the nutrition field. -- interviewed at a local college talk to a financial aid counselor and applied for some returning student loans and scholarships. She was so excited to learned she was eligible for the loans and securities whose scholarships. She -- and rolled and then nutrition school to begin summer of next year. She will be taking evening and weekend courses to fulfill the requirements she needs. To graduate in two years. She will then roll over her employer's 401K plan into an IRA. And seek employment in a hospital setting. Where she will continue to contribute to a 401K plan for a few years. It is her goal to do this until she begins a private practice working in nursing homes. A desire she wants to fulfill. After seeing her mother's nutritional needs ignored at a local nursing home. Her skills does make her well qualified to expand her reach. By creating a business composed of other nutritionist. She can hire and a contractor basis. And earn an income from their labors as well. She was very happy to have found something that would allow her to transition from a secure work environments. A secure Citibank just this is a and start doing what she has always loved with people who need her skills. She feels the tender loving care she gives she would get back tenfold. The end. OK so that's our story of the week and like it yes nice to get happy endings. Well you have to be willing to try to make -- change content. -- -- you need month well I think the thing is yet he will have to do my citizenship it's also true about people looking at retirement. It's not a matter of focusing on what you're leaving -- so what you're going to. And it's the what you're going to is so compelling. That you it makes you get through all the stuff that's uncomfortable. Then that's the other into the road to go something you really love and you really like to go to bed in the morning. That's not a bad thing so it's a wonderful thank goodness it's good. So -- at least doing test is doing very well. Good for her -- -- Friendster but yes I wanna know how you come up with these made up names every week so I had just -- manner they just floated around. Of course but we have to say is the names are not China nearly a dozen names have been changed protecting innocent -- yes. That's -- -- innocence the food. That's why federal align the payment of staying in it. -- and it becomes. Greater than the fear of being without that great great and -- -- contain it -- -- and until you reach that point. And it happened. I have to say one of the things here that I found in the AA RPC. Bulletin. This is something that I want people unknown because they do it without thinking about it then you couldn't. See that there is a dramatic difference. When you take a few minutes and do something will definitely this is a couple of in Levittown Pennsylvania. Both in their late eighties they had their daughter's name to their bank accounts. Which is when everybody tells me do my name now -- account. And they did it to allow her access to the funds as they face to sudden helped Kansas. Well they said given our advance days -- thought it was a good idea and then they found to a trip. Sadly. Their daughter Amy died last October. Two months later. They got hit with a top pound for several thousand dollars. They were amazed discovered under Pennsylvania law a third of the money yes -- was considered to be aiming. And they had no inherited it and now they are paying taxes and parent the parent yes of four and a half percent ha -- And their point was our daughter had none of her own money in our accounts in fact she had never even visited the bank. Well it happens like that but the fact of the matter is out of the worst -- nice -- it's it and tells people that's -- the thing is they don't and that's their point. Is she she said when the tax -- arrived the bank officials suggested. -- granting their daughter -- power of attorney yeah could have averted liability and that's really important -- course this. Power of attorney would allow her to have access to that stuff. And then this woman who was on the -- so why didn't they tell us this before. You lose your daughter and you have to go through this -- it's been hell happens with the sisters who put. Names on their town and the one whose money really is the other one dies and they pay inheritance tax on their own money. I'm happens all the time and they also have to remember that not only for a power of attorney but you have to follow up with a well because of power of attorney is the way to death. So if they die you can know just because you have power of attorney on that specific count if it's just a bank the power of attorney. It's no Allen Boyd from so you always -- it's -- pitch gets you so crucial. For a when you opened. Bank accounts that people understand what they're doing and the person opening I mean you can't you can. Advice -- say this is what -- If you really have to be careful what you do in that capacity cuts don't with a -- sometimes they just so hell bent on doing it what they won't even listen to it don't just they want it and then this is the stuff that happens. Well it in the same vein there was another story in here that of course is of my pet peeve as you -- -- about annuities they can't stand them. I know -- couple they felt they were tough to buy this. The sales person that and they were in their eighties at the time that they should have come a living well. I'm -- -- living room. Take that back that's not -- within -- kind of wilderness after. I think it's it's as well a man. Anyway it's a kind of a legal structure where they have to worry about paying probate taxes. And I just said you don't need this you don't have anything that's gonna go through probate guess -- sound like it was a really good idea. Well this group of people started doing this and selling thousands of these. Two people that were in their eighties in Pennsylvania. And then found that they would sell the leads to these guys who would go out them and sell them annuities. Same people and they put hundreds of thousands of dollars in annuities and then the people discovered they couldn't get it out without penalties for up to fourteen years. This is that this is just unconscionable. So anyway they clamp down on them and they stuff doing that but that doesn't mean they're not gonna do and everywhere else. So please be aware if it sounds like it's so good to be true it is is home -- -- -- know we're gonna take a quick. Break him back. The doctor Karen Lopez we're right back I. So good morning everyone on this beautiful Saturday. And it is truly a million of us we came in China a lot of clubs I'm company sunlight today I was thinking that I was -- -- this -- a -- -- -- -- -- -- Beautiful yes well same as. -- and my name's Lyn Evans and I am the president and CEO of northeastern. Eight billion dollars dad what are they the human error and other human. You do and and I guess there's sort of a unique challenge that comes along with being an emergency done right 'cause. They've never met you before they have a primary care veterinarian that they trust. Very much and you're you're seeing them for the first time and often times in a very scary situation where. You need to kinda gain their trust quickly to help them make decisions about their pets so Exxon. That's sort of unique about being an emergency that but I do. I like it because they're such a variety you never know what's gonna walk in the door Macs and that keeps you on your toes and it's very exciting. So what is the most bizarre thing you ever seen anything that an animal experience that came in to see you. Well I guess this was sort of the the funniest thing we got a phone call that there is a dog coming in with its intestines hanging out and that's. -- So come and just -- -- -- -- -- -- I don't get out of a sudden it comes in and they're something's hanging out. It's but and it's. Got a news paper like one of those long plastic newspaper bags -- covering the end so it's not contaminating -- so. I ain't I good you know they bring the dog back in I go over and I look at it the Don. It's like a chocolate Labrador and it it looks really nervous so I go over and I kind of put some gloves on and I look at whatever hanging there and I just give it a gentle Tug and it comes out and it's actually a pair of pantyhose. You know it's -- Trying to think that you the other there -- -- come. There are some owners that are just you know they're really needs or their kids I know and it's. It's challenging to kind of get them to sort of calmed down and you know I think one of the hardest things is when you do a lot of diagnostics which still don't have an answer. And they can get very frustrated and and you know I've had. One person say to mean well you know. I said veterinary medicine is not black and blade and she said it's very black and white -- my mother's a doctor and I don't see how you don't see that and I'm like but from Madison is not black and white so. You know they kind of kind of say things and and we do things that you just have to try to stay calm right in them you know I know you're upset.
